For all you LEGO lovers and builders, LEGO unveiled a brand-new Star Wars set yesterday, and it’s a great one.

Presenting the 501st Legion Clone Troopers Building Kit!

This is a wonderful and welcome surprise from LEGO. It’s a 285-piece set, and will release August of this year. According to the official Star Wars website, the set includes the following:

  • The AT-RT Walker, with a new color scheme, posable legs, a stud shooter, attachment points for a blaster and electrobinoculars element
  • The BARC Speeder, featuring two stud shooters
  • Four LEGO minifigures: Three 501st Clone Troopers and a 501st Jet Trooper, plus two Battle Droid LEGO action figures.

Too bad this isn’t released now. It would be an excellent quarantine activity!

In other Star Wars toy news, Hasbro announced a new addition to its Black Series Carbonized Collection, a relatively new series that adds a metallic finish to its figures. The next figure to get this treatment will be everyone’s favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett himself!

He’ll be a 6-inch figure, at a retail price of $24.99, available this spring. Another Carbonized Collection figure coming this spring will be a 6-inch ESB Stormtrooper (which, with the metallic finish, kind of looks like Phasma).

Hasbro also announced some new figures arriving this fall, including both 3.75-inch and 6-inch figures.

3.75-inch figures include K-2S0 and Clone Commander Wolffe. The 6-inch figure lineup has Admiral Ackbar, The Mandalorian, Teebo, and Darth Vader.
