Our Star Wars: Fan of the Week series explores inside the minds and hearts of the franchises’ most devoted fans.

This week, in our weekly Star Wars series, Fan of the Week, Jennifer Zalepka shares with us her love for Star Wars and what her “Star Wars story” is.

What is your “Star Wars story?”

“My Dad has always been my Star Wars “lead”. He has always been into the Galactic Universe. As his oldest child, he always had me along no matter what the movie or show was. See, he saw a UFO as a teenager on the farmland that he lived on. His story is not one of mistaken identity either. While growing up, I was taught about the stars and planets and any movie or show that had to do with outer space or the galaxy. So, of course, Star Wars was top priority because it was so in-depth. I have always felt a connection to Star Wars and I have always loved Darth Vader!”

Which is your favorite era of Star Wars and why?

“It would have to be the original era! I’m older, so, of course, growing up with A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi was amazing.”

Which Star Wars character are you most like?

“I believe I am most like Anakin. Most times, my emotions are controlled by other people’s actions and am sometimes completely misunderstood. My feelings are sometimes conflicted, and I love the people who are closest to me with all my heart.”

Jennifer Zalepka

Tell us your own Star Wars theory.

“I have always believed Anakin would have been a much different Jedi had Qui-Gon been able to train him. I believe Anakin would, himself have been the one to bring complete balance to the Force from the beginning. Star Wars would have played out completely different if Qui-Gon had lived. Anakin wouldn’t have been seduced by the Emperor early on because Qui-Gon would not have allowed it. Qui-Gon would have been able to keep Anakin balanced.”

How would you describe Star Wars in one word?

“EXHILARATING!”
