The long-awaited meeting has come at last. According to Bespin Bulletin, Project Maverick is finally set to be revealed on June 9th.
Project Maverick was first introduced to us on March 4th when it was added to the European PSN store as a teaser and has been rumored since then to be a small project EA Motive has been working on for a while now to enter the world of Star Wars gaming. Although removed from the PSN store, it has caused many theories and speculations. Below is the teaser image that was released. As it can be seen, we see one Imperial Star Destroyer as well as X-Wing fighters. This setting seems to be on a volcanic/fiery planet which has led many to believe this takes place on Mustafar. Mustafar has made many appearances since its first appearance in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, thus also appearing in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
With this reveal on June 9th, I believe we will learn either a release date, a trailer, or a little more knowledge that may light our way.
The gaming universe of Star Wars has definitely become one in the Force with us, allowing us the opportunity to experience the great games released by EA in the previous few years such as Star Wars: Battlefront, Star Wars: Battlefront II, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. With the upcoming release to be later in 2020 for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and the 2022 release of the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order, the future of Star Wars gaming is very bright, especially with the addition of Project Maverick.
As seen with previous projects EA has released in the Star Wars universe, we can expect Project Maverick to be released on platforms including Xbox, PS4, and PC.
